Building a Home First Aid Kit
A well-stocked first aid kit means you’re not scrambling for supplies the moment you need them. Here’s a solid starting list for most households.
The essentials
- Adhesive bandages in a few sizes
- Sterile gauze pads and medical tape
- Antiseptic wipes or solution
- Digital thermometer
- Tweezers and small scissors
- Disposable gloves
- Pain and fever relief suited to your household (including a children’s formulation, if needed)
- Oral rehydration sachets
- Any regular medication family members rely on
Keep it maintained
Check the kit every few months, restock anything that’s been used, and replace items that are close to or past their expiry date. Store it somewhere easy to reach in an emergency, but out of reach of small children.
